DDA Campaigns
The Disability Discrimination Act. Adjusting for better business.
The ‘Adjusting for Better Business’ campaign aims to help small to medium sized businesses understand their responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
The campaign launched on 1 December 2005. It reminds employers that making simple adjustments to their business can make a major difference to the lives of disabled people.
The campaign includes press and radio adverts. These will appear in trade publications from 28 November and in eleven regions around Britain between December 2005 and May 2006, as follows:
| Region | Month |
|---|---|
| London & South East | December 2005 |
| East Anglia | December 2005 |
| Yorkshire & Humberside | January 2006 |
| North West | February 2006 |
| North East | February 2006 |
| Scotland | March 2006 |
| South West | April 2006 |
| Wales | April 2006 |
| East Midlands | May 2006 |

The campaign uses ‘business champions' as case studies, to show real life examples of the different types of reasonable adjustments that can be made.
It is supported by a booklet ‘The Disability Discrimination Act – A guide for small to medium sized businesses’. To read or download the booklet go to the Disability Discrimination Act: Adjusting for Better business website.
