Description |
Bristol Disability Benefit Centre is based at Flowers Hill, Brislington, Bristol and processes entitlement to Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance. These are non-means-tested tax-free benefits for people who need help with personal care or have walking difficulties because they are physically or mentally disabled. Unlike most other benefits, they are not conditional on unemployment or low income. Decision Makers Executive Officers (EO) make decisions in accordance with the policy governing Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance. You will be expected to manage your workflow to meet the targets of clearance times for claims and meet your own personal targets as set by the unit. You will be expected to positively contribute to the standard of service to all customers by giving a professional, efficient and excellent service as laid down in the Pension Disability and Carers Service Business Plan. You will be expected to work independently using own initiative. Gather, interpret, analyse and process information to reach sound, unbiased decisions. Identify and suggest ways of improving customer service, adjusting own working practices as necessary. Manage external/internal customer and third party queries by telephone, post and e-mail. Respond promptly to customer enquires; ensuring information given is accurate, treat customers fairly and courteously at all times. Competent drafting and telephone skills are essential; the use of the telephone to gather information is a key requirement of the Decision Maker role. |

The test will be available from 16th November 2009 until midnight of 19th November 2009. Unfortunately we will not be able to progress any applications from applicants that have not completed the test by this time. If successful at test you will be invited to an interview on Saturday 28th November, you must be available for that date. |
