Welfare Sector Transparency Board
To support the Transparency and Open Data agenda, additional transparency boards have been set up to cover specific policy sectors across government. In conjunction with Cabinet Office, DWP has set up the Welfare Sector Transparency Board to look at:
- DWP’s growth review requirements set out in the Open Data Strategy
- linking of and release of DWP data sets which could be used by industry for commercial purposes, analysed by academia for wider public benefit, or reused across other government departments and local authorities.
The Board is chaired by Gill Aitken, Director General of DWP Professional Services, and includes membership from:
- the financial services sector
- employment-related service providers
- academia
- the Information Commissioner’s Office
- Citizen Advice
- Demographics User Group
- Cabinet Office
