Open Data Strategy
The Open Data Strategy supported by the Information Strategy is being used to drive improvement in both Transparency and the Open Data agenda. The strategy summarises data sets we routinely publish, as well as making a commitment to the publication of new data sets outlined in the growth review .The strategy is divided into 5 key headings:
- Big Data – routinely published DWP data, for example client benefit details, procurement and financial information
- My Data – focuses on the introduction of personal on-line accounts for Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, where customers will be able to view their own data
- Satisfaction and Experience Data – understanding our customers’ experience and the Department’s services to improve delivery, including customer survey data, complaints and redress schemes
- Creation of Dynamic Markets – engaging with external stakeholders including academia and the private sector, to identify opportunities for linking welfare datasets to other government and commercial data sets to increase their value to industry
- Continuous Improvement of Quality Data – replacement of the on-line statistical tabulation tool to promote greater self help access to a wide range of DWP client data in an anonymised re-usuable format.
