Public bodies
Introduction
Men and women from all backgrounds participate in public life by being members of the boards and committees of public bodies. They advise Ministers and government departments on a wide range of policy issues and on the most effective ways of delivering public services. They play a vital role in shaping Britain and therefore need to reflect the different life experiences of an increasingly diverse and multicultural society.
We are particularly keen to attract people from under represented groups to take up appointments – including women, disabled people and those from ethnic minority backgrounds.
