Job Outcome Target 2010 to 2011
Target: 11.47 million job outcome points
What is this target?
The Job Outcome Target measures the number of our customers who move into work, whether through a referral by a Jobcentre Plus Adviser or one of our contracted providers or via our self-service channels such as an electronic job point or the internet.
How does it work?
Performance is measured using a points system. Every time we help someone into a job we earn points towards our Job Outcome Target. Jobcentre Plus customer records are matched with information from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) systems to identify when our customers have moved into work.
When there is a match, the job outcome is converted into points depending on the customer group. The higher the priorities of the customer, the more points are achieved. For example:
- helping an unemployed lone parent into work – 12 points
- helping an employed person change jobs – 1 point.
There is a delay in employers notifying HM Revenue & Customs when an employee starts work, therefore there will be a delay of approximately six months before we are able to publish final in-month figures for Job Outcome Target performance.
For the remainder of 2010/2011 Job outcome data will only be reported quarterly at a national level. This decision has been made in order to focus resource on developing new 2011/2012 reporting.
