North and Mid Wales District

Partnership working in North and Mid Wales
Local Authorities – we work in partnership with seven counties across the District:
- Anglesey Council
- Conwy County Borough Council
- Denbighshire County Council

Basic Skills Partnerships
The District is a key partner in supporting the review and improvement of Basic Skills provision to people across North Wales. Our external partners are:
- A4E Wales
- Deeside College
- Llandrillo College
- Careers Wales North East
- Careers Wales Mid Glamorgan and Powys
- North Wales Training
- NACRO
- Powys Training
- Scout Enterprises Ltd
- Wales Council for Voluntary Action
- Wrexham ITEC
Childcare Partnerships
The District is engaged with Childcare Partnerships and Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships in each of the seven County Councils within the boundaries of the District. The District uses childcare barrier information gathered from Local Service Outlets, to aid County Councils in the development of childcare provision within the District. Support can be given to Advisers on childcare workforce, childcare barriers, and new childcare initiatives; including advice on employing new childcare staff and the statutory qualifications required.
The Childcare Partnership Manager for the District is Linda Ellis.
Economic regeneration
The District is engaged with each County Council’s Economic Development team, and provides advice and support on labour availability, skills supply and social exclusion.

Our providers as at 3 July 2006 are:
- A4e (Wales) Ltd – in Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Powys and Wrexham
- Scount Enterprises- in Anglesey and Gwynedd
- SOVA – for mentoring
- Birmingham Chamber Training – for self employment.
