Simplified claim process

DCS is committed to simplifying the Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance claim process.
We want to make it easier for disabled people to give us the information we need to make correct decisions on their claims, as quickly as possible.

That’s why we have redesigned the adult DLA form. By consulting with disability organisation we have developed a new claim form that customers say is easier to understand and complete.

We are currently working on the next version of the form which we feel will bring further improvements, especially for people suffering from a mental illness.

We have also redesigned the Attendance Allowance form and, after consultation, intend testing this towards the end of September this year.

Discussions have also started with representatives of child support groups with a view to improving the claim process. As part of this we also look to improve the children's claim forms.
