Localism – Equality Impact Assessments

Localism is the word used to describe how Jobcentre Plus delivers its services from other locations. This could be through co-location in partners’ premises, mobile services or through outreach where Jobcentre Plus services are taken into the community.

Jobcentre Plus has delivered services from other locations for many years. It is already working in around 1,500 community locations outside Jobcentres including providing access to advisers from Children’s Centres, prisons, libraries, Local Authorities, etc.

Jobcentre Plus is currently reviewing the way it provides its services to see whether there are further opportunities to work in communities.
